Week 6 of the NBA has arrived.
Detroit 110 Golden State 111
In Oakland, the Warriors edged out the Pistons by one point. Jamaal Wilkes led the Warriors with 24 points and knocked down the winning shot with 12 seconds left. Detroit's last second three by Kevin Porter at the buzzer fell short.
Cleveland 106 Philadelphia 110
At the Spectrum, George McGinnis scored 29 points and had 14 boards to lead the 76ers to a win over the Cavs. Steve Mix also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the now 3-3 Sixers.
Phoenix 112 Boston 105
In a rematch of the 1975 NBA Finals, the Suns managed to pull off a win over Boston at the Garden. Paul Westphal put up 32 points for Phoenix and Alvan Adams scored 17. The defending champion Celtics are now a league worst 1-5.
Los Angeles 113 Kansas City 108
At Kemper, the Lakers came back from down 11 after three quarters to defeat the Kings. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had 29 points and 17 boards to lead L.A. and Cornell Warner had 15 and 15.
Houston 105 Atlanta 111
At the Omni, the Hawks jumped out early to a 14 point halftime lead and held off a late Houston rally for the win. John Drew had 29 points and Tom Henderson 20 for the victorious Hawks.
New Orleans 105 Buffalo 116
The Braves undefeated run gos to 6-0 with a convincing win over the Jazz. New Orleans actually led at the half, but a terrible second half from New Orleans allowed the Braves to come back. Bob McAdoo had 36 points to lead Buffalo.
Milwaukee 104 Seattle 119
It was all SuperSonics in Seattle as they cruised over the Bucks. Tom Burelson scored 24 points and added 10 boards for Seattle and Leonard Gray added 15 points. Both teams are now at 3-3 on the season.
New York 108 Washington 129
The Bullets crushed the inconsistant Knicks at Capital Center this week. Elvin Hayes had 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Bullets. Phil Chenier also scored 22 for Washington.
Portland 86 Chicago 107
At Chicago Stadium, the Bulls dominated Portland in a Western Conference battle. Mickey Johnson scored 24 for the Bulls and Bob Love and Tom Boerwinkle each had 18. Portland is only the third team this season to score in the 80's.
