Week 7 1975-76 NBA

Here is week 7 of the NBA's '76 season.


Cleveland 110 New Orleans 114 (OT)
In just the second overtime game of the year, the Jazz edged out the Cavs at the Superdome. Pete Maravich had 23 points including 5 in overtime and Rich Kelley followed up with a double-double.


Philadelphia 126 Atlanta 122
At the Omni, the Sixers came back in the 4th quarter to defeat the Hawks. Fred Carter led Philly with 32 points on the day and George McGinnis added another 23. The 76ers improve to 4-3 on the year.


Buffalo 122 Golden State 118
The Braves' undefeated run goes to 7-0 with an impressive win over the defending champion Warriors. Randy Smith led Buffalo with 35 points and Bob McAdoo scored 30 with 14 rebounds.


Portland 124 Milwaukee 115
At the Mecca, the Trailblazers led 62-42 at halftime and survived a late Bucks comeback to win. Bill Walton stared for the Blazers with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Geoff Petrie added 20 points for Portland.


Houston 120 New York 129
At the Garden, the Knicks knocked off the Rockets in a high scoring affair. Earl Monroe was the leading scorer for New York with 29 points. Spencer Haywood and Walt Frazier added double-doubles for the Knicks.


Phoenix 101 Kansas City 111
At Kemper, the Kings pulled away in the second half to defeat the Suns at home. Nate Archibald scored 30 points to lead Kansas City and Ollie Johnson added 25 points. Both teams are now at 3-4.


Washington 107 Boston 119
In a rematch of last year's East Finals, the Celtics got revenge on the Bullets. Boston had 6 playersin double figures led by ave Cowens at 26 points and 16 rebounds.


Seattle 107 Detroit 119
At Cobo, Bob Lanier had 23 points and 15 rebounds in the Pistons home victory over the SuperSonics. Curtis Rowe scored 20 points as well for the Pistons, who improved to 3-4 on the season.


Chicago 88 Los Angeles 109
It was all Lakers at the Forum as they cruised over Chicago. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was again in the spotlight for the Lakers with 23 points and 12 boards. Lucius Allen also scored 21 for L.A.
