1975-76 NHL Week 4

Here we go with week 5 of the NHL, tonight we will have NASCAR and tomorrow MLB and NFL if everything goes to plan.


Buffalo 5 Los Angeles 5 (OT)
The first tie game in the NHL happened this week at the Forum. Danny Gare had three goals for the Sabres including two in the third period to tie the game for Buffalo. Marcel Dionne scored twice for the Kings.


St. Louis 4 NY Rangers 5
A four goal second period by the Rangers spurred them onto a victory over the Blues at the Garden. Brad Park had 2 goals and an assist amd Jean Ratelle had a goal and two assists to lead New York.


Montreal 4 California 2
In Oakland, The Canadiens jumped out ealry and cruised to victory over the Golden Seals. Steve Shutt scored twice for Montreal and Guy Lafleur followed up with a goal and an assist as Montreal improves to 4-0-0.


Toronto 4 Pittsburgh 5 (OT)
At the Igloo, the Maple Leafs blew a late lead and lost in overtime to fall to 0-4-0. Syl Apps Jr. had a goal and two assists for the Penguins and Dave Burrows scored a shorthanded goal to win the game in overtime.


Vancouver 1 Chicago 5
The battle for first in the Smythe was one sided as the Blackhawks took down the Canucks. Grant Mulvey and Dale Tallon each had a goal and an assist to lead the Hawks.


Washington 4 Boston 8
At the Garden, the Bruins dominated the Capitals. Andre Savard and Terry O'Reilly each scored twice and had an assist while Wayn Cashman assisted 3 times to lead Boston to a win.


Minnesota 2 NY Islanders 7
It was all Islanders at Nassau Coliseum as the Islanders went to 4-0-0. Jude Drouin had 2 goals and 3 assists for New York and J-P Parise followed up with 3 assists. The North Stars fell to 0-4-0.


Detroit 2 Atlanta 8
At the Omni, the Flames ran the table against the winless Red Wings. Bill Clement led the Flames with two goals and an assist and Curt Bennett had a goal nad two assists as the Flames improved to 4-0-0.


Philadelphia 8 Kansas City 1
At Kemper, the Flyers crushed the hapless Scouts. Dave Schultz, Reggie LEach, and Orest Kindrachuk all scored twice for the Flyers. The Scouts are now 0-4-0 on the season.
