1975-76 NHL Week 7

We are week 7 of the NHL as a lack of parity continues to be apparent this week.


NY Rangers 6 Chicago 5 (OT)
A wild game at Chicago Stadium culminated in a Rangers victory. Bill Fairbairn scored the winner in OT for New York. Rod Gilbert had a goal nad an assist for the Rangers in the game as well.


California 7 Washington 6 (OT)
At Capital Center, the Golden Seals won a high scoring affair in OT over the Capitals. Rick Hampton was the hero for California, scoring 3 goals including the game winner in the extra session. Al MacAdam also had a goal and 3 assists for the Golden Seals.


Montreal 6 Los Angeles 5
Yet another high scoring game took place at the Forum, where the Canadiens remained undefeated. Steve Shutt of Montreal stole the show with four of the Habs goals and an assist.


Detroit 2 Toronto 5
The Maple Leafs got a much needed home victory over the Red Wings. Toronto got two goals each from Errol Thompson and Stan Weir. Lanny McDonald and Boris Salming followed up with 2 assists apiece.


St. Louis 1 NY Islanders
It was all New York on Long Island as the Isles cruised over the Blues. Bryan Trottier was the leading point getter for New york with a goal and 2 assists on the day. Bob Nystrom als ohad 1 goal and 1 assist.


Boston 5 Pittsburgh 9
The surprise of the week was at the Igloo, where the Penguins ran up the score on the Bruins with ease. Vic Hadfield and Ron Schock each had two goals as the Pens scored four in the firts and third periods.


Vancouver 1 Atlanta 6
The Flames are now an incredible 7-0-0 with an easy win over the Smythe leading Canucks. Curt Bennett scored twice for Atlanta and Dan Bouchard made 33 saves in the win.


Philadelphia 6 Minnesota 1
The North Stars are still looking for their first win after a rough loss to the Flyers. Orest Kindrachuk led the Flyers with two goals as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period.


Buffalo 8 Kansas City 1
The Scouts are now 0-7-0 after another embarassing loss, this one to the Buffalo Sabres. Rick Martin got a hat trick to lead the Sabres, while the Scouts allowed 7+ goals for the fifth straight game. They have been outscored 51-11 this season.
