1975 NFL Week 6

We are now at week 6 of the NFL, here it is.


Houston 16 Atlanta 10
In Atlanta, the Falcons outgained the Oilers by 102 yeards, each tam had one turnover, and yet the Oilers won the game. A Dan Pastorini to Ken Burrough pass was the lone touchdown for the Oilers, now 5-1.


Buffalo 33 San Diego 27 (OT)
In a shootout at the Murph, the Chargers came back from down 17 in the 4th waurter to tie the game but lost to favored Buffalo in OT. O.J. Simpson had the winning score with a 58 yard touchdown run.


Pittsburgh 21 San Francisco 24
Norm Snead completed only 7 of 23 passes for the niners at Candlestick, but two went for touchdowns as the 49ers edged the Steelers. Terry Bradshaw was 18 for 28 for 295 yards passing, but it fell short in the loss.


Cleveland 17 New Orleans 20
At the Superdome, the Saints won as time expired in the 4th on a Richie Szaro 43 yard field goal. Cleveland had come back from being down 17-0 at halftime to tie the game, but fell short to fall to 0-6.


St. Louis 11 Detroit 17
At the Silverdome, the Lions managed to defeat the Cardinals in a tough low scoring bout. The difference maker in the game was Dexter Bussey, who scored a 55 yard TD run early in the 4th for Detroit to give them a 14-3 lead at the time.


Philadelphia 22 Green Bay 17
At Lambeau, Roman Gabriel found Charle Young on touchdown passes for both Eagle touchdowns as the ydefeated the Packers. The win brought the Eagles back to .500 at 3-3.


NY Jets 21 Denver 29
At Mile High, Jon Keyworth was the key to the Broncos success in thier victory over the Jets. Keyworth had three rushing TDs on the day to go with 108 total yards to lead Denver.


Washington 10 Baltimore 21
In a regional rivalry bout, the Colts defeated their close neighbors, the Redskins. Bert Jones had 3 TD passes, two of them to Raymond Chester and the other to Bill Olds, to lead the Colts.


Dallas 20 NY Giants 7
The Cowboys finished a sweep of the season series versus the Giants at Shea. The Cowboys had 20 unanswered, with a Lee Roy Jordan 57 yard interception return for a touchdown starting the scoring.


Oakland 28 New England 14
At Foxboro, the Raiders rolled over the Patriots by two touchdowns. Ken Stabler had two touchdown passes, one to Morris Bradshaw and the other to Bob Moore, to lead Oakland to the win.


Chicago 3 Minnesota 21
The Vikings defeated the Bears for the second time this year at the Met. Chuck Foremnad has a rushing and receiving touchdown for Minnesota while also having 101 total yards.


Kansas City 13 Miami 38
The Chiefs fell to 0-6 after getting blown out at the Orange Bowl by Miami. Mercury Morris scored twice on short touchdown runs to give the Dolphins a boost to 5-1 on the year.


Cincinnati 0 Los Angeles 31
It was all Rams in Anaheim as Los Angeles shutout the Bengals. James Harris threw for three touchdowns for the Rams to go with 162 yards passing. Lawerence McCutcheon added 131 total yards and a touchdown.

What? The 1975 Week 6 game score was not Chicago 3 Minnesota 21. It was Vikings 13 and the Bears 9 on MNF played on 10/27/75.
